Monday, Jan. 12

  Highlights:

• This morning, we started making our S.M.A.R.T. goals. We are creating one academic goal and one goal. Ask me to tell you about my goals. 
• We learned how to dribble a basket ball in P.E. Ask me to tell you what I need to remember while dribbling. 
• During Literacy, we used the computers for the first time! We went on Epic to read and practiced our typing skills. Ask me to tell you about it!

• We reviewed our addition and subtraction skills during Math. We are going to have our SWYK tomorrow. Ask me what I want to practice before the check-in.
• In Science, we started learning about simple machines. Today we learned about the lever. Ask me to show you an example in our home.

Friday, Jan. 9

 Highlights:

• This morning, we worked on finishing up some of the things that we did this week. Ask me what I worked on. 
• During Math, we did our last math station. Ask me what I practiced today. 

• We had Music today. Ask me what we did!
• During Word Work, we finished the rest of the lower case cursive letters. Ask me to tell you what ones we learned and to show you how to write them.

• In field study, we explored snow! We made three different kinds and compared them to real snow. Ask me to tell you how each one was similar and how it was different to real snow.

Thursday, Jan. 8

Highlights:

• This morning, we talked about S.M.A.R.T. goals for Health. Ask me to tell you about S.M.A.R.T. goals and what each letter means. 

• We had our last day of Mission Impossible during P.E. Ask me about my favourite part!

• During Literacy, we learned about the topic sentence in a paragraph. Ask me what its job is. 
• We did new centres during Math. Ask me to tell you what stations I did today. 
• For Art, we read a book called Snowmen at Night and then created our own snowman using oil pastels. We learned new techniques today, ask me to tell you about them.

Wednesday, Jan. 7

 Highlights:

• This morning, we worked on our 2026 visual journal page.

• We did Mission Impossible during P.E. Ask me how many laps I did!
• During Literacy, we read One Word for Kids and chose a word that we wanted to  represent our year ahead. Ask me what word I chose and why!

• We did new centres during Math. Ask me to tell you about each of the stations and what one I did today. 

• During Social Studies, we talked about symbols that are important to different First Nation groups and then created our own symbols with things that are important to us. Ask me what I included in mine!

Tuesday, Jan. 6

Highlights:

• This morning, we talked about the New Year and reflecting. We reflected on the last year and created a visual journal page. Ask me to tell you about my 2025 highlights and what I want to do less of in 2026!

• We did rockstar training in Music. Ask me about the songs!
• During Literacy, we talked about paragraphs. Ask me to tell you about the different parts that make a paragraph. 

• In Math, we practiced solving word problems using R.I.C.E. to help us. Ask me to show you how to solve the questions below. 

• During Science, we watched different videos and talked about the forces. Ask me to tell about the picture below.

Monday, Jan. 5

Highlights:

• We started Mission Impossible in P.E. today! Ask me to tell you about the obstacles. 
• During Literacy, we interviewed a classmate about their winter break and then wrote a report about some of their highlights. Ask me to tell you about the interview and what I wrote. 

• In Math, we started learning how to solve addition and subtraction word problems. Ask me what R.I.C.E is!

• During Science, we used modelling clay to explore contact forces! Ask me to show you the different forces, directions, and strengths I can apply to the clay.

Friday, Dec. 19

  Highlights:

• Today was PJ Day!

• This morning we cleaned out our bins for the winter break. Ask me if I brought anything home. 
• We finished our gingerbread art from yesterday. Ask me to tell you about it.

• We had our movie switch! Ask me what class I went to and what movie I watched!
